Kartiki Churi, MD, MBA, FAPA | Chief Medical Officer, Axis Integrated Mental Health
Board-Certified Psychiatrist Leading Clinical Innovation Across Colorado
Dr. Kartiki Churi is a board-certified psychiatrist, Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and healthcare executive who brings nearly two decades of clinical and leadership experience to Axis Integrated Mental Health. As Chief Medical Officer, she oversees the clinical direction of the practice across all seven Front Range locations in Denver, Boulder, Westminster, and the Denver Tech Center. Her career has been defined by a singular focus: building mental health care systems that are effective for patients and sustainable for the providers who deliver them. At Axis, she leads the clinical teams responsible for advanced interventional treatments including Deep TMS (BrainsWay) and Spravato (esketamine).
Dr. Churi holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, completed her psychiatry residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and earned an Executive MBA in Healthcare from the University of Colorado Denver. She is board-certified in psychiatry, ECFMG-certified, and holds the distinction of Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA). Her career includes over seven years at Colorado Permanente Medical Group (Kaiser), where she served as an outpatient psychiatrist and North Area Specialty Operations Chief for Psychiatry. Before joining Axis, she held progressive leadership roles at Family Care Center, advancing from Clinic Director to Regional Medical Director, Regional TMS Lead, and Vice President of Psychiatry Service Line.
Dr. Churi’s clinical philosophy rests on three principles. First, treatment decisions must be grounded in evidence. Axis does not chase trends. Every modality the practice offers, from Deep TMS to Spravato to ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, has a body of clinical evidence supporting its use for specific conditions. Second, care must meet patients where they are. Treatment-resistant depression does not look the same in every patient, and a one-size-fits-all approach fails too many people. Third, clinical quality depends on provider wellbeing. When clinicians are supported, empowered, and able to practice with autonomy, patient outcomes improve. Dr. Churi has built her career around creating the team cultures and clinical systems that make all three of those principles operational realities, not just aspirations.
She is particularly interested in the responsible use of AI in healthcare delivery, viewing it as a tool to enhance clinical decision-making and operational efficiency while keeping the human connection at the center of psychiatric care.
